Gamma camera is a nuclear medicine device that provides a detailed diagnosis of the functioning of the thyroid, heart, brain, lungs, liver, gall bladder, and many other parts of the body. It helps determine the severity of or treat a variety of diseases. Gamma camera is also known as scintillation camera.
Gamma camera detects gamma rays emitted by radiopharmaceutical molecules injected into a patient’s body. Once the molecule is fixed on the target organ/tissue, the emitted gamma rays are displayed on a TV monitor. Like an X-ray, the gamma camera produces a two-dimensional projection of a three-dimensional object.
Dual head gamma camera is available at HOD Faridabad.
