Theranostics is a combination of the terms therapeutics and diagnostics. It is a cutting-edge technique in personalised medicine and nuclear medicine where a radioactive drug is used to identify (diagnose using PET CT scan) and a second radioactive drug is used to treat cancerous tumors by delivering radiation to precise targets on these cells.
