A treadmill test (TMT), or a stress test, is an electrocardiogram (ECG) test performed on heart patients to know the severity of the heart disease. The patient may need to walk on a treadmill or pedal a stationary bicycle. It monitors breaths per minute, heartbeat, and blood pressure. The test is recommended for people who have symptoms of angina, people with a history of heart attack, and those who have been through bypass surgery.
